Hi, I'm Michael Dudek, your local Liberal for Joondalup.

Growing up in Perth’s northern suburbs as one of nine children, I learned the importance of hard work and education from a young age. My step-dad studied economics at ECU Joondalup while working, and my Mum built a business from scratch while caring for our family. This dedication from my parents showed me the value of perseverance in making ends meet.

With extensive experience in my family’s Joondalup business, consulting to other enterprises, I know firsthand the challenges that small businesses face. I understand the critical need for economic policies that support growth and drive local prosperity.

I am passionate about giving back to the community. I’m committed to supporting our youth and fostering a stronger, more inclusive society that keeps them engaged, healthier and optimistic about their futures.

I have volunteered in tutoring first-generation Australians and Indigenous teenagers. As a player and coach, I have also worked to drive growth in participation of youth in sport.

I currently serve as a Local Government Councillor and on the WA Local Government Association, representing Joondalup, Stirling, and Wanneroo.

Revitalising the Joondalup centre, preserving our pristine coastline and completing the Ocean Reef Marina are key priorities for me. These are crucial for enhancing economic growth and our community’s quality of life.

As a member of the Liberal team, I’m fighting for real action on the cost of living, better access to health services, more resources to crack down on crime, and support for local businesses and entrepreneurs to create jobs.

🔴 ANNOUNCEMENT: WA LIBERALS COMMIT $510,000,000 TO LAW & ORDER 🔴

Crime is out of control in Western Australia. Total offences have surged state-wide, increasing from 238,149 in 2020 to a staggering 287,747 in 2023. WA has fewer officers per capita than when Labor assumed office nearly eight years ago.

The WA Police Union has voiced strong dissatisfaction with the Cook Labor Government’s disregard for police welfare.

If elected, the Liberals WA will commit $510m to:

✅ Additional Police and Significantly Enhanced Police Presence in areas most affected by crime and anti-social Behaviour
✅ School Engagement Officers and funding the part-time employment of retiring police officers to work with disengaged youth
✅ Retention of Police with incentives and increased superannuation, highlighting the value we place on long-serving officers
✅ Officer Wellbeing and Increased Support in accessing mental health services

Only a WA Liberal Government will deliver the change we need.

I'm proud to be representing our great state of Western Australia, as part of the @footballwest WA Amateur Soccer Team travelling to Malaysia next week.

We will be testing ourselves against the likes of professional teams Selangor FC and PDRM Football Club.

Sport is so important for our youth to become involved in the community. Not only does it provide opportunities and pathways later on in life, but it teaches important values that are needed to succeed.

I'm committed to working with our clubs of all sporting codes to get better outcomes for the players they support.

✅ ANNOUNCEMENT: WA LIBERALS TO UNLOCK 100,000 HOMES ✅

If elected, The Liberals WA will significantly boost WA’s housing supply, with a $500 million fund to tackle Western Australia’s housing crisis.

Direct investment into infrastructure such as sewerage, roads, transmission lines, ground water, reservoir and pump upgrades, will unlock 100,000 new homes and put downward pressure on housing costs.

After 7.5 year of Labor Government in WA, in the midst of a cost-of-living crisis, it's time to see meaningful change.

✅ ANNOUNCEMENT: ELECTIVE SURGERY GUARANTEE ✅

Very glad to announce that if elected, The Liberals WA will invest $100 million to clear the backlog of elective surgery, and guarantee that all elective surgeries will be performed within the medically recommended timeframe.

We know that many of these surgeries actually save lives, and it's critical that these are performed within the recommended timeframe. Since Labor came to power, the number of surgeries performed outside this timeframe has increased by 320%.

Under a future Liberal Government, not a single West Australian will wait longer than recommended for their surgery.

🔵 ANNOUNCEMENT: LOWER TAX & SUPPORT FOR FIRST HOME BUYERS 🔵

I'm pleased to announce that if elected, the Liberals WA will slash stamp duty for first home buyers, to assist aspiring homeowners to break into the property market.

Under the changes, the First Homeowner Rate of Duty (stamp duty) exemption threshold will be raised from $450,000 to $550,000, and the concession threshold from $600,000 to $700,000.

This means first home buyers will save up to $15,010 in reduced stamp duty, and will pay no stamp duty on homes worth $550,000 or less!

🟢Revitalising the Joondalup CBD is a big priority for me, and one of the most effective ways to help achieve this, is to back small business!
